MMT multi-axis position sensors
are based on the use of a permanent magnet and Hall effect sensors. The
principle is completely contactless, which ensures a life duration of several
million cycles and the possibility to operate at high frequencies and in the
most severe environments. The main features of this family of sensors are: |

·
Contactless principle ·
Very high linearity of the output signal (error
below ±1%) on a –40°/+150°C temperature range ·
Low sensitivity to production tolerances, external
disruption, and second degree of freedom variation ·
Programmable through the connector (gain, offset) on
both channels after assembling |

Cylindrical sensor |
The combination of two
degrees of freedom either linear, or rotary involves the following patented
designs: ·
Plane sensors: 2 linear motions ·
Cylindrical sensors: 1 linear and 1 rotary motions ·
Spherical sensors: 2 rotary motions Thanks to our experience in
electromagnetic devices, we are able to adapt all these designs to the
requirement of your application. These adaptations also
includes the choice of the most suitable Hall probes according to the
requirements of your application. |

In these sensors, we still
use the magnetic principle of our single track sensors. The Hall probe
inserted in a slot between 2 stators measures the flux variation in this
slot, which is a linear function of the rotor position. In our multi-axis designs,
we are using 2 probes for each degree of freedom, and an electronic
processing of these output signals provides a linear function of the position
for both directions without any coupling effect with the signal variations of
the other channel. |

|
MMT multi-axis position sensors
are particularly well suited for applications requiring highly linear sensing
devices that can withstand millions of cycles in a demanding environment
(dust, vibration, magnetic field, etc…). Moreover, their low
manufacturing cost and the possibility to program the main useful parameters
after assembling offers a very efficient and reliable solution for high
volume production. |
